Laguna Hills

God is gracious enough to make us move on and get excited for HIS greater plans. That is, if we put our trust in HIM and never allow ourselves to linger to the past and with all the “what if’s”.
Remember from my last post, Our Pregnancy”... I mentioned that someone booked me and my husband for a weekend get away? We give God the glory for the generosity of this couple that are like a big brother (Kuya) and big sister (Ate) to us. My husband and I are both the eldest child in our respective Families, so personally for us it’s such a blessing to find, meet & know people that God can use in so many ways and be like older siblings for us in the body of Christ. So, to both of you… “Thank you.”

Anyways we spent our weekend in Laguna Hills stayed in Marriott Courtyard. It was a pleasant stay. We made sure to enjoy the pool & jacuzzi. Our change of scenery even for a weekend is such a blessing already. Besides prayer times, we made sure to enjoy our time together like as is we were just dating! Not only we learned this from the successful marriages (all of them have kids already, even grown up kids!) but from our Marriage counselor as well. And I personally believe in this idea. To all the married couples out there, whether you are recently married or been married for 5, 10, 25, or even 50 years and beyond; with kids already or still waiting.  “Both of you should find time for a Date night or Day out!” It does not mean it needs to be fancy or needs a special occasion to do so. The important part is your “time” with each other; either do it at home in your backyard (while kids are sleeping already) or go out of town if you can, it doesn’t really matter, it’s on how you hold hands, hug each other & look at each others eyes like as if it’s the very first time you fell in love; do old or new things together! make some big or small adventures, whether food trips or the real adventures. Most of all, have a prayer time together. Nothing beats that as a secret ingredient! Growing old together, takes an effort…that should come from both sides. The YOU & ME in marriage.

Ephesians 5:33  “However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”

Anyways, I just wanna share our spontaneous get-away-weekend! In case you are in the area, you can check some of the places we’ve been to. Remember, find time.

We hang out most of our stay in Irvine Spectrum Center. It’s a good size outdoor shopping area. Clean & Fancy! So glad that people were so friendly and nice everywhere. Very family oriented (Lots of babies & kids!) and super dog friendly (Wish we brought Cooper with us!).

LYFE. A healthy option restaurant! We enjoyed every bite! And I love my Ginger-Lemonade!

The Melt. Another healthy place to go. It’s so cute that every item in this restaurant is addressed as “The”.. The water; The Soda, The Burger, The fries The etc! The burger is just so delicious. It brought as good memory of our experience in England. The freshness of everything! Specially the burger patties!

Wine. Dine. & Recline. Edwards21.
A Theater that we enjoyed relaxing while watching a movie! There were staff that goes to your seats and takes your orders from their menu, swipes your card and gives you your receipt. Minutes later, your choice of drinks & food delivered to your seats! “Treated like King & Queen!” The chairs reclines & comfy enough. Feet up! Very spacious too. Btw, we watched “Bridge of Spies”, it’s a good one!

The Ride.7D. While walking around the Spectrum center, my eyes saw “7D”! And with my husband we checked the small space of this establishment. To our surprise this small space is pretty amazing. Not only they have a bunch of very friendly staff, the $9/each we paid is worth the experience. Of course, we did not try the Zombie (though that is their no.1 famous experience), the Gigamon is pretty much so cool already! We were part of the first 600 customers, we came in on their 2nd night. And my husband made it to the top 5 player for the day! This is a first time experience for both of us.

My favorite and his first time! Bellagio II Nail & Spa.
So aside from doing something new together. My husband joined me in one of my favorite thing to do. Yup, he enjoyed his very first Nail & foot spa experience! Because it was a Sunday, this family owned business was hanging out and watching over their business as a Family. It was the husband & wife that took cared of us. And their young sons entertained us with their stories & questions. Amazingly, we think they used around 9 kinds of lotion plus the sugar scrub & paraffin wax.

The Snooty Fox. My husband and I appreciates places that brings not only set of good tasting food but a feel good place. A place that has a character! Certainly this small chain not only gives you a “Homey feeling, but warmth welcome from their staff and with freshly made delicious food. It was a good find!

Thanks for reading! By the way, in the Courtyard we stayed, they have a pool and a Jacuzzi. And just for sharing, my husband was enjoying the Jacuzzi while I was swimming on the pool, doing some laps… when we will look at each other from a distance and gives each other “Flying Kiss!” every now & then. Little things that can light up your day and warm your heart!
